Candle lamps come in two main varieties: electric "warmers" that melt wax using a bulb, and traditional lanterns that house a burning candle. Follow these instructions for safe and effective use in 2026.
1. Electric Candle Warmer Lamps
These lamps use a halogen bulb to melt wax from the top down, releasing fragrance without an open flame.
Installation: Align the bulb (usually a 50W GU10) with the socket, press up, and twist clockwise to lock it.
Positioning: Place a jar candle on the base directly under the bulb. Some models have adjustable heights; ensure the bulb is 3–5 cm (1–2 inches) above the wax for optimal melting.
Settings: Use the dimmer switch to control scent intensity; higher brightness melts wax faster and creates a stronger scent "throw".
Wax Maintenance: Unlike burning, the wax in a warmer does not evaporate. After several uses, the top layer will lose its scent. Carefully pour off the liquid wax or soak it up with cotton balls to expose fresh, scented wax beneath.
